AVL TIMES spoke with Linda Chen, Vice President of their International Sales System at Absen, to learn more about the company history and future plans for the Asia‐Pacific region.

What aspects of Asia‐Pacific market sectors make video technology an exciting industry to be involved in?

There are so many concert activities of major stars that the performance market in the Asia‐Pacific market is unprecedentedly hot.

How much growth for your industry do you see in the next 2 years for the Middle East and APAC territories. (1) Do you see sales growth in Middle East for 2025 the same as 2024, or will be stronger by 15%, 25%?

The core potential growth regions for the next few years are the Middle East and Southeast Asia, where the overall growth percentage is expected to be higher than the global growth average. We look forward to the growth of the Asia‐Pacific economies.

Which industry sectors within the APAC and Middle East market make Absen products and video technology an growing industry to be involved in?

Over the past two years, the concert market has continued to boom, and expectations are high that Absen is heavily invested in the Touring product, and together we're driving the industry forward.

Are there differences (type of applications, quantity of products, scale of projects) between the APAC and Middle East market segments for video solutions?

There are segmentation differences, for example, the concert industry is extremely hot in the APAC region, and the Middle East is a hotter market relative to international conferences and exhibitions because of the combined cultural and other backgrounds.

What is the latest technology advancement that Absen is introducing in their product range currently sold in the market?

Our rental products have greatly improved the display quality, most of the parameter configurations are upgraded to 7680Hz, and the gray level is also improved. In addition, the structural modeling design of the cabinet is enhanced, which can be used for multiple purposes on one panel.

For example, MC series products adopt the composite structure of double‐layer magnesium alloy and carbon fiber, which achieves both lightweight and strength.

The standard panels of MC series have left and right corner cutting design, which can create arc, right angle and straight screen at will.

Another example is a product platform of NT series, which can create more shapes such as arc display, straight screen, cube display and arc corner display (splicing with FL sesies).

Which recently completed or currently ongoing projects since January 2024 that the ABSEN is most proud of that are using your latest product models?

In January, Weibo Night held by Sina, a famous online media company, used NT2.9, our activity rental product of 1000sqm.

In March, Karol G Explanada Cayala, a concert project in Guatemala, used NT3.9W, a popular outdoor rental product, of 550 square meters.

This year's GFEST Marathon Concert were held in Thailand, in which 500sqm LR3.9‐7.8 was used.

Please tell us what you personally find exciting and/or challenging about being involved as a key participant in the growth of video technology for newer and future applications.

For example, from the audience's point of view, it is hoped that there will be more creative stage modeling, higher degree of picture restoration and better visual viewing experience for the audience. From the perspective of rental customers, it may be a trend to build a comprehensive rental and staging solution that is lighter and easier to operate in the future.
